Equipment Focus Hitachi EX Series Hydraulic Excavators

Posted on: November 10, 2012 in Heavy Equipment

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is proud to announce the latest additions to its product range with the introduction of the new EX2600-6 and EX5600-6 hydraulic excavators. Incorporating a series of advanced upgrades, the latest generation of Hitachi excavators feature applications to revolutionise the worksite and increase production capabilities.

The EX2600-6 and EX5600-6 excavators boast larger buckets designed to enhance efficiency and generate greater productivity. Operators will benefit from a backhoe bucket capacity of 17m3 for the EX2600-6 and a 34m3 bucket size for the EX5600-6.

Hitachi’s technologically advanced engine system powers both the EX2600-6 and EX5600-6 to produce greater engine horsepower and increased cooling capacity. Time-proven Cummins diesel engines generate a total of 1069 kW (1434 HP) in the EX2600-6 and 2 x 1069 kW (2 x 1434 HP) in the EX5600-6 to provide maximum excavation performance on the worksite.

The integration of Hitachi’s computer-aided Engine-Pump Control (E-P Control) enables the ability to adjust power output in relation to work being performed creating the highest level of efficiency from the engines and hydraulic pumps. This innovative system senses load demand and controls engine and pump output for maximum operating efficiency. Strategically positioned oil coolers help maintain oil temperatures with two oil coolers being utilise for optimal cooling efficiency. They are positioned far from the engine radiator for even better cooling potential.

As you’d expect from Hitachi, innovative cab ergonomics, operator comfort, and intelligent functions have been incorporated into the EX2600-6 and EX5600-6. Features include enhanced operator visibility to provide a clear view of worksite, electric joystick levers allowing effortless controllability, and an ergonomic cab layout to reduce operator fatigue and improve efficiency. An intelligent multi-display monitor enables operators to monitor important machine conditions and operating status for an optimal level of productivity and efficiency.

Operators will benefit from the constant-cab-comfort air conditioner, which maintains cab temperature and pressurisation, as well as prevents dust from entering the cab. Operator comfort is optimised with an adjustable sliding cockpit to customise position of the levers and seat, as well as the ability of the seat cushion to automatically adjust according to operator weight.
