A diversified company is keen to hear from all applicants who are interested in launching a career in resources at a $570 million coal mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

Wesfarmers Resources has announced its 2017 apprentice and trainee intake for the Curragh Coal Mine, 17km from Blackwater.

The company is interested in hearing from everybody, especially mature age, female and Indigenous applicants who aspire to kick start their career with an apprenticeship or traineeship. Positions are available in electrical, mechanical, boilermaking, business administration, purchasing and logistics.

“We ask our employees to get fully involved in a way that wouldn’t be possible in a larger operation. They are empowered to make decisions on real and challenging work, share ideas with people at every level and take responsibility for the business,” Wesfarmers says.

Successful applicants will gain valuable experience through working with seasoned professionals, developing strong relationships, mentoring and supervised training.

Applicants will require:

  • own accommodation and transport to the site
  • grade 12 certificate
  • cover letter
  • resume
  • application form with two referees
  • last two school reports if you left school within the last two years

Applications close Friday, 27 January 2017.
