An industrial equipment company has won a tender for the latest part of a $415 million coal development in Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

A subsidiary of Fenner Dunlop recently secured the overland conveyor system contract for Anglo American’s Aquila Coal Project, 240km southwest of Mackay.

Made in Australia

Successful bidder Australian Conveyor Engineering (ACE) is tasked with completely designing, supplying, installing and commissioning an ACV002 Overland Conveyor at the underground mine.

This includes the overland structure, belting, electrics and an elevated stacker to load coal onto the site stockpile. ACE promises the mechanical supply, electrical supply, belting and other conveyor components will be made in Australia.

Work is expected to finish sometime before the end of the year 2021.
