Our switch rooms and server rooms are suited to all mine sites, including those situated in remote locations that experience extreme weather conditions. The switch rooms and server rooms are easily transportable, dependable and robust and are designed to withstand harsh environments. They offer a cost-effective means of delivering power and communications to isolated sites.
Each Bass mobile switch room comprises main and auxiliary switchboard power distribution, motor control centres and a separate dedicated automation room. Off-site manufacture has the advantage of allowing a comprehensive factory acceptance-testing program to be carried out prior to delivery, enabling minimal onsite commissioning time.
The design and layout of Bass mobile switch rooms is such that the structure can be split along its length to enable transportation by road. Switch rooms designed by Bass are adaptable. A recent example is a switch room built for a coalmine that was installed onto an elevated 20 metre platform.
Bass has a large Engineering team that provides power and control system design, PLC and SCADA programming and commissioning services to the mining industry. Systems include design and construct projects for coal stacking/ reclaiming and crushing applications, main ventilation fans, pumping stations and coal process plants. Bass are also able to liaise with electricity distributors regarding site specific HV power supply requirements.
