Multiple FIFO mining job vacancies available in Far North Qld

Multiple job openings are available across North Queensland and QMEB can reveal many of them offer fly-in fly-out (FIFO) as well as drive-in drive-out options.

A remote mine site in northwest Queensland is hiring several underground service crew members. FIFO applicants are welcome if they live within 150km of either Townsville or Cairns airports. Work hours are 12-hour shifts for eight days on and six days off.

Duties include installing and maintaining ventilation, water and air, and delivering and picking up of tools and equipment plus other general underground labouring duties as directed. Meals and accommodation will be provided on site.

Previous experience in boilermaking, carpentry or another trade will be highly regarded. Prior mining experience is desirable but not necessary. Click here to apply.

Penalty rates promised

Meanwhile, a western Queensland project site is hiring multiple FIFO heavy duty diesel fitters who are able to fly in from either Cairns or Brisbane. Applicant must be qualified heavy duty diesel fitters with some experience working on Caterpillar earthmoving equipment.

The successful candidates will receive an attractive hourly rate with penalties for working an average of 11.5 hours each day for two weeks on and one week off. Four weeks of annual leave, camp accommodation and food will be provided. Click here to apply.
