A subsidiary of civil and mining contractor has won a major tender for a metal project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
RCR Mining Technologies, which is owned by NRW Holding, recently secured the design and construct equipment package for Fortescue Metals Group’s Cloudbreak Iron Ore Mine, 450km south of Port Hedland.
The agreement tasks RCR with supplying and installing a new relocatable HOP9 Crushing Plant that is capable of processing 3500 tonnes per hour of primary sizing. It will be fed through Fortescue’s autonomous truck fleet and have the flexibility to be relocated to many other locations. The plant will serve as an extension of four other relocatable plants RCR previously developed and are already operating at 2,500 tonnes an hour.
