15 Australian workers killed on the job

Fifteen Australian workers have been killed at work this year so far, according to statistics by SafeWork Australia.

As at February 17, there have been three fatalities in the transport, postal and warehousing industry, four in the agriculture, foresty, and fishing, and four in the construction industry.

The electricity, gas, water and waster services, other services, information media and telecommunications, and professional, scientific and technical services industries each recorded one death.

The death toll is down 12 from the same time last year.

In 2015, there were four deaths in the mining industry at February 17, compared to zero this year.
