Bowen Basin coal mines begin recruitment drive

One of the world’s largest mining services providers is going on a hiring spree for multiple coal developments across Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

Thiess hopes to fill a variety of permanent positions at BHP’s Peak Downs Coal Mine in Winchester, 210km southwest of Mackay and Jellinbah Group’s Lake Vermont Coal Mine in Dysart, 246km southwest of Mackay.

The contractor is looking for:

  • multi-skilled operators and excavator operators at Lake Vermont (multiple positions)
  • excavator operators at Peak Downs (multiple)
  • production operators at an undisclosed open-cut coal mine in the southern Bowen Basin (multiple).

Click here to apply. The right applicants will be offered a 12-hour day and night roster of seven days on and seven days off, performance bonuses, salary sacrificed flights and a company paid bus between the mine site and either Mackay or Rockhampton.
