Chinchilla LNG Plant Officially Opened By Newman

LNG Plant ChinchillaPremier Campbell Newman officially opened BOC’s new 50 tonne per day Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant this morning near Chinchilla.

The plant, located at Columboola, near Chinchilla, has been constructed by BOC to cater to the domestic LNG market for heating, generating, manufacturing and transport fuel.

According to BOC, “Natural Gas fuels reduce pollutants, lower greenhouse gas emissions by up to 25%, reduce engine noise by up to 50% and are cheaper at the bowser compared to diesel.”

“LNG is currently the only viable alternative to increasingly imported diesel for long haul transport and a range of other heavy-duty fuel tasks.  It is not only a cleaner fuel; it can diversify fuel sources and also reduce Australia’s growing dependence on imported fuels as local refineries close,” a statement released by the company said.

Who:             Premier Campbell Newman, Managing Director BOC Australia Colin Isaac and invited VIPs.

What:            Official opening, media picfac and interview opportunity at the new BOC 50 TPD domestic micro LNG fuel plant.
