Contract awarded for multiple metal mines

A construction engineering company has won the tender for multiple precious metal operations in Western Australia’s Goldfields-Esperance region.

SRG Global recently won the drill and blast contract for Saracen Mineral’s Thunderbox Gold Mine in Leinster, 329km north of Kalgoorlie, and Carosue Dam Gold Mine, 124km northeast of Kalgoorlie.

The agreement tasks the successful tenderer with carrying out explosives management, grade control drilling and other specialist drill and blast services at both operations. QMEB can reveal the deal is worth $70 million and for a five-year term.

SRG has already started recruiting for the following job vacancies:

  • blast hole/grade control driller expressions of interest (multiple positions)
  • fly-in fly-out rope access technicians (multiple)
  • scaffolders (multiple).

“We are extremely pleased to have secured this new, five-year term contract with Saracen who are a major player in the gold sector,” SRG managing director David Macgeorge said in a public statement.
