Geologist scores board role at project management firm

A qualified geoscientist has quickly worked her way up to an advisory board role at a Brisbane project management consultancy.

Siecap’s latest advisory board member Caoilin Chestnutt has spent the past two decades working in geology, principal technical, exploration management and business development for the likes of Xstrata, Arrow Energy and Anglo American. Her most recent role was resources investment commissioner for the Queensland Government.

Prominent speaker

Chestnutt is known for speaking about commodity and investment trends at the 10th Women in Energy and Resources Leadership Summit and other mining and resources forums around the world.

She was named finalist in the Australian Women in Industry Awards and mentors young women across the science, technology, engineering and maths sector. She is an active industry figure and member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, various Queensland Exploration Council working groups and Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

“She is a dedicated and driven professional and I have no doubt that she will prove herself extremely valuable to Siecap’s mining clients,” Siecap CEO David Irvine said in a public statement.
