Environmental Advisor

As Thiess’s next Environmental Advisor reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent the core functions of the role relate to the following areas:
- General environmental management and reporting
- EMS development and implementation
- Environmental monitoring
- Topsoil and water management
- Ground disturbance
- Rehabilitation planning and execution
- Management of subcontractors
- Environmental training of staff and the workforce
This role is ideal for someone who is looking to take their career to the next level and broaden their skillsets while working with a tier one contract mining organisation. Ideally, the successful candidate will reside within reasonable driving distance from the mine site (Dysart – Qld) as this is a Monday to Friday DIDO role, with camp accommodation provided.
What Skills and Experience do you need?
Thiess is looking for someone who can use their skills to influence at all levels, embrace systems to drive changed behaviours and to deliver continuously improving environmental management. You will need to be an innovative and proactive problem solver who maintains high personal performance standards. In this job you will be hands on, spending significant time in the field and utilising your skills in Vulcan and GIS software for planning works.
To be successful in this role you are required to have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Site based environmental experience
- One to three years’ experience in a similar role
