Spades Officer – Darwin Onshore Facilities

  • Darwin based role – Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities
  • Local hire only, working 58 hours per week
  • Excellent salary package

Chiyoda Oceania Pty Ltd currently has a new opportunity for a Spades Officer. Reporting to the Isolation Coordinator, you will be responsible for the provision of spade management support to the Ichthys Onshore LNG Project during Construction, Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning phases, by ensuring audits are conducted and spades are in place prior to activities being carried out. As the focal point for administration and co-ordination of spade management, ensure best practice application at all times to reflect safety as the first priority for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Spades System to optimise safety and efficiently transition commissioning.
  • Conduct accurate and timely reviews of submitted installation/removal designs, to ensure all drawings are marked up correctly; all relevant signatures are in place prior to issue.
  • Maintain the spades register, ensuring that the data is accurate and up to date;
  • Ensure that the Spades Audit schedule in maintained;
  • Conduct audits in line with the Spades Audit schedule;
  • Prepare and transmit Red Spade Audit documentation to operations in line with agreed Red Spade Audit schedule
  • Prepare spades forms at the request of the Commissioning team or as directed by the Commissioning Permit to Work and Isolation Manager;
  • Coordinate and liaise with other departments and service groups as required to achieve planned goals and overall objectives.
  • Provision of support to the management team and supervisors in achieving planned works.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years Isolation experience, preferably within LNG processing, Complex Hydro/Chemical processing, Hydrocarbon processing or Complex Hydro Metallurgical processing
  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Engineering Flow (PEF)
  • Broad technical and HSE skills with a solid working knowledge of construction and commissioning operations.
  • Commissioning, operational and construction experience including a detailed knowledge of the work environment, and process and area related hazards.
  • Desired, recognised relevant trade qualification, though not essential
  • Process Plant experience as operator and or maintainer
  • English literacy and effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
