Pauline Hanson has thrown her hat back in the political ring, announcing she will contest  the seat of Lockyer at the next Queensland state election on a platform opposing coal seam gas activities in rural areas.

Speaking at a Crowley Valley farm, Ms Hanson said she would fight for the rights of farmers with “… all guns blazing.”

“Coal seam gas may look good on paper but are we allowing international companies to come out and destroy our country, make millions of dollars out of it and let the profits leave Australia?” Ms Hanson asked APN.

Allocation of water resources will also be on Ms Hanson’s political agenda.

“The farmers are denied the access to water and are not encouraged to put more dams on their property,” she said.

Ms Hanson does not actually live in the Lockyer Valley but claims she has a connection to the electorate through her great grandparents who once owned a farm in the area. Ms Hanson lives in the neighbouring electorate of Beaudesert.
