Public comment sought on 30 year action plan for Queensland mining and resources

ResourcesQThe Queensland Government is inviting public comment on their newly released 30 year action plan, developed through ResourcesQ.

In recent months, regional workshops to develop the vision and action  plan were held in the key resource centres of Emerald, Mount Isa, Cairns, Gladstone and Roma. These workshops  “provided a valuable perspective from regional stakeholders into the long-term vision and action plan for the resources sector.”

More than 250 people attended the regional workshops including resource industry representatives, local councils, businesses, training organisations, infrastructure providers, natural resource management and agricultural groups.

The ResourcesQ: Draft 30-year vision is open for public comment until 4 August 2014. The public is invited to have their say by visiting: www.dnrm.qld.gov.au/resourcesq

All feedback will be used to guide the development of the ResourcesQ action plan to be finalised and launched in September 2014.

ResourcesQ is a partnership between the Queensland Government, the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies, the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, and the Queensland Resources Council.
