Qld Energy efficient appliance rebate applications closing

Queensland householders who purchased an eligible energy efficient appliance by June 3, have until tomorrow to get their applications in to receive rebates of up to $300.

Energy Minister Dr Anthony Lynham said the online application form must be submitted within 30 days of the date of purchase of the eligible appliance.

“I encourage households who purchased an eligible 4-star or higher energy-rated fridge, washing machine or air conditioner by the 3 June cut-off date to get their applications in.

“More than 53,300 Queensland households already have received the rebate.

“Washing machines have been the popular choice so far with over 23,500 households claiming the rebate to help reduce their power costs in doing their laundry,

Dr Lynham said rebates have been spread strongly across Queensland, with regional households making up almost 25 per cent of rebate applications.

“In the regions, Toowoomba residents have led the way with 984 households claiming the rebate to date.

“Across Queensland, 18,000 applications have been from concession card holders who will benefit from the power savings offered by energy efficient appliance.

“If you’ve recently purchased your eligible appliance, there is less than a week to apply for the rebate,” Dr Lynham said.

To receive a rebate, you must have bought an eligible appliance by 3 June and apply online at www.qld.gov.au/appliancerebate within 30 days of purchase.

Terms and conditions including eligibility requirements apply – check if your recent purchase is eligible for the rebate.

Applications close midnight July 3, 2018.
