A construction company won the contract for a major resources development.

GR Engineering Services recently secured the plant expansion works package for Evolution Mining’s Mungari expansion.

The successful bidder will spend the next 30 months engineering, designing, procuring, and lifting processing plant capacity 110 per cent to 4.2 million tonnes per annum. QMEB can reveal total works are worth about $250M.

Planning was well underway with site works expected to start in mid-January 2024 at the time of publication. Commissioning is expected by the end of the March 2026 quarter.

“The award of this contract is a major milestone for the Mungari Future Growth Project. It secures the critical processing plant infrastructure within our budgeted costs, locking in over 60 per cent of the project costs, and secures a delivery time within the approved project schedule,” Evolution managing director and CEO Lawrie Conway said in a public statement.
