Beginners can be paid, fully trained and find long-term work at a coal operation in Queensland’s Isaac region.

Multiple inexperienced operator positions are available at Anglo American’s Moranbah North Coal Mine, 211km southwest of Mackay.

Mastermyne’s inexperienced training program provides coaching and support over a 12-month period. This offers an opportunity to undertake a Certificate II in underground coal mining, and be signed off as an experienced miner on successful completion. A two-week MyneStart program must be completed before starting work on-site.

The employer owned by Metarock Group previously offered an annual $7800 market allowance plus up to $6000 in local living benefits each year. Other perks include equal-time rosters, relocation allowance, performance and parental bonuses, loyalty gifts, prescription safety glasses, superannuation, annual leave, private health subsidies, discounted income protection, salary packaging, motor vehicle novated leasing and company paid education.

Fully funded training, and ongoing coaching and mentorship, is also available.

“Many who have completed our program have progressed to greater career opportunities to operational leadership, statutory or staff management positions with our company,” the company said on the Seek website.
