The Comet Ridge Project, south west of Blackwater could be the next casualty of Bandanna Energy’s decision to enter Voluntary Administration, with the proposed Triumph Creek Train Loading Facility at Comet Ridge, now in real jeopardy.
Bandanna Energy and owners of Comet Ridge, Acacia Coal, are co-proponents of the proposed facility which was to be part of Bandanna’s Springsure Creek Coal Project. Coal from Acacia’s Comet Ridge Project is planned to be loaded through this Facility also.
In a statement released by Acacia Ridge yesterday, the company said, “Given the recent announcement by Bandanna Energy and the uncertainty now surrounding the Springsure Creek Project, Acacia is considering its position and is seeking an urgent meeting with the Voluntary Administrators.”
“In the meantime, Acacia Coal is committed to complete the Mining Lease application and Environmental Impact Report for the Comet Ridge Project.”
