A construction engineering company has won multiple tenders for metal operations in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

Monadelphous Group recently secured a number of construction and maintenance contracts with BHP WA Iron Ore (WAIO), Rio Tinto and Fortescue Metals Group (FMG).

Years of work

The successful bidder will dewater surplus water at BHP’s Mining Area C under the existing WAIO asset panel framework agreement in Newman, 343km south of Port Hedland. It will also serve on the mining giant’s WAIO Site Engineering Panel for two years and provide civil, structural, mechanical, piping and marine services at BHP’s mine site and port operations.

Monadelphous will separately spend three years carrying out maintenance services and minor project work for Rio’s Pilbara marine infrastructure. It will also receive another 12 months to provide fixed plant maintenance and shutdown crane services for FMG.

QMEB can reveal the deals are worth a combined $150 million. Jobs will be advertised here: careers.monadelphous.com.au
