A mining services company offered big incentives to lure remote jobseekers who might relocate to Queensland’s Central Highlands region.

Mastermyne Group wants to hire fly-in fly-out workers who are open to living locally.

The employer recently offered an annual $7800 market allowance plus up to $6000 in local living benefits each year to anyone who relocates near QCoal’s Cook Colliery, 195km west of Rockhampton. Otherwise, fully funded return flights are available between Brisbane and Emerald in which case accommodation camp and meals are provided.

The following permanent, full-time and underground positions have been advertised:

  • miner drivers (multiple positions)
  • electricians (multiple)
  • operators (multiple)
  • fitters (multiple)
  • supply person.

Fully funded training, and ongoing coaching and mentorship, is also available.

“Our preference is always to live locally to the mine operation and there are benefits available to incentivise those who live in, or would like to relocate to, the beautiful Central Highlands. Flights will be provided to those who choose to reside in southeast Queensland,” Mastermyne said on the Seek website.
