The Opportunity
Rio Tinto are looking for a Maintainer Electrical to contribute to the maintenance, reliability and continual improvement of the Fixed Plant assets at Greater Paraburdoo.
Located 80km south of Tom Price, Greater Paraburdoo is an open pit operation producing high grade ore through a central processing plant. It comprises of three mines: Paraburdoo, Channar and Eastern Range. The picturesque town of Paraburdoo offers residents a range of leisure facilities and local amenities including a jet-serviced airport.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced individual with a background in fixed plant maintenance to join our highly motivated and close knit team with a strong commitment to safety and zero harm culture. Working a 4 days on, 4 nights on, 7 off, 4 days on, 3 nights on, 6 off roster and reporting to the Supervisor – Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will be:
- Carry out safe and effective breakdown and scheduled maintenance to enhance the reliability and quality of fixed plant assets
- Conduct high voltage isolations and carry out minor high voltage maintenance activities
- Effectively communicating and consulting with fellow employees and stakeholders to deliver the maintenance plan
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in the equipment or work procedures
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with Mine Safety Inspection and Electricity Licensing Regulations
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Electrical trade and valid WA electrical licence
- High Voltage Switching qualification
- Manual ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience in a fixed plant maintenance environment or similar
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- High Risk Licence – EWP, Forklift
- Certificate IV in Instrumentation
- Experience in PLC fault finding and modifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP maintenance systems or equivalent
