Production Superintendent – FIFO – Phosphate Hill

Working at Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) provides the opportunity to be involved in an industry leader in both the agriculture and mining industries. IPL is an international chemicals company, focusing on the manufacture of explosives and fertilisers for the mining and agriculture industries but also producing some niche industrial products.

The integrated mining and processing complex at Phosphate Hill and Mt Isa produces one million tonnes of high analysis fertiliser per annum. The facilities process phosphate rock mined from the Phosphate Hill resource with the production of ammonia from natural gas and sulphuric acid from copper smelter gases to manufacture phosphoric acid and high analysis ammonium phosphate fertiliser for domestic and export markets

Reporting directly to the Production Manager and leading a team of 5 (and a further 21 indirectly) you will work closely with Maintenance and Reliability, to lead operation teams to achieve plant and division manufacturing objectives for growth, profitability, quality, Lean Manufacturing and customer satisfaction. You will assist to drive the production capabilities of this key facility to determine and set its optimum capacities.

You will preferably have an engineering or science degree and significant operational leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. Candidates with experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Change Management will be highly considered.
