Superintendent NPI Water | IO Asset | FIFO or Residential
There are two (2) new Superintendent Water positions to fill:
• Superintendent Water – Eastern, will be responsible for the Eastern Pilbara potable water infrastructure supplying mines, camps and the Newman township. This will be residential role based in the Newman township
• Superintendent Water – Central & Northern, will be responsible for the Central and Northern potable water infrastructure supplying mines, rail and camps. This is a fly-in, fly-out role based on a standard 5:2 – 4:3 roster with flexible options
In this position your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practises so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors
• Demonstrating commitment and conformance to the BHP Billiton Charter and Code of Conduct
• Reliable and cost effective operation and maintenance of water infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and legislative requirements
• Ensuring that appropriate governance and interface mechanisms are in place for internal and external stakeholders
• Development of operations and maintenance personnel to drive continuous improvement
• Development and execution of annual plans including supply/demand forecasting and cost budgets
• Ensuring conformance with BHP risk management process including the execution and verification of critical controls
• Engaging and supporting projects teams to ensure the successful delivery of capital projects
• Developing, implementing, measuring, monitoring and improving appropriate performance benchmarks for area of responsibility
Skills and Experience
The capabilities we are looking for in this position include:
• Degree qualification in Engineering, Science, Hydrology or similar
• Alternatively, a trade background with supervisory and technical water experience will be considered
• +5years experience demonstrating technical competency in your field expertise and leading/managing teams
• Sound understanding of risk management, regulatory environment and requirements
• Exposure to the requirements for the supply of drinking water would be well regarded
Location
The Eastern Pilbara role is a residential role based in Newman, WA. The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities. As this is a residential position, you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
The Central Northern role will be a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) role from Perth based on a standard 5:2 – 4:3 roster with flexible options requiring travel to both the central mines and Port Hedland areas. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
