Mining contractor starts hiring spree after winning tenders

An integrated multi-disciplinary service provider has launched a major recruitment drive after being awarded multiple contracts at a variety of resources projects.

Civmec wants to hear from jobseekers who want to have a share in more than $100 million in new construction, manufacturing and maintenance work.

Variety of FIFO work

The successful bidder will supply, manufacture, trial assemble and deliver four main train load-out bin modules for BHP’s Jimblebar Iron Ore Project in Newman, 480km southeast of Port Hedland in the Pilbara.

The contractor is separately supplying, fabricating, surface treating and modularising shuttle trusses, conveyor trusses, platework and stick steel for Rio Tinto’s Gudai-Darri (Koodaideri) Iron Ore Project, 301km south of Port Hedland.

Civmec will perform detailed earthworks, concrete placement, cabling, piping and other civil work for Roy Hill’s De-bottlenecking Iron Ore Project, 370km southwest of Port Hedland.

The company is also carrying out structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and fixed plant workshop construction work at Rio Tinto’s Mesa A Iron Ore Project, about 200km southwest of Karratha.

In both the Perth and Peel regions, it will spend a further three years providing calciner maintenance, scaffolding, mechanical, refractory, electrical and other major overhaul and repair services at Alcoa of Australia’s Kwinana, Pinjarra, and Wagerup alumina refineries.
