A multinational mining services company wants to quickly fill several job vacancies at a coal operation in Central Queensland’s Central Highlands region.
A subsidiary of CIMIC Group is accepting applications for multiple new positions at Coronado Global Resources’ Curragh Coal Mine in Blackwater, 208km west of Rockhampton in the Bowen Basin.

Thiess has advertised the following permanent fly-in fly-out and bus-in bus-out jobs:
- multi-skilled operators (multiple positions)
- excavator operators (multiple)
- truck operators (multiple)
Click here to apply. Successful applicants will work a 12-hour (day or night) rotating roster of seven days on and seven days off. Company paid buses will be provided between Mackay, Rockhampton and the mine accommodation camp in Blackwater. Salary sacrificed flights are also available.
Contract win
The recruitment drive came after Thiess recently secured a six-year contract extension worth $1.3 billion. The successful tenderer is responsible for removing and hauling overburden, dewatering pits, maintaining equipment, mining and run of mine rehandling services.
The contractor is also required to operate and maintain Coronado’s 1400 tonne electric rope shovel and ultra-class trucking fleet in tandem with other CIMIC subsidiaries Sedgman and UGL.
