New Mines Minister To Speak At Industry Event In Toowoomba

Queensland’s new Mines Minister, Anthony Lynham, will be guest speaker at Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise’s (TSBE) next event in April.

The event will be held on April 23, with Minister Lynham expected to give attendees an insight into the direction he will take in his current appointment.

TSBE chief executive officer Shane Charles said it was a unique chance to hear first-hand from the Minister his plans for his portfolio and how he will contribute to the future of Queensland.

“We are really looking forward to hearing Minister Lynham speak to our regional business community about his plans for the future,” Mr Charles said.

“We have seen some difficult times recently with the slowing down of the resource and energy sectors and the falling oil price, so it will be interesting to hear from the Minister himself how he plans to tackle the State’s future.”

Minister Lynham was appointed as the Minister for State Development, Natural Resources and Mines in February this year, having previously held the seat of Stafford since the July 2014 By-Election.

Following on from the July 2014 By-election, Minister Lynham was subsequently appointed as the shadow Minister for Education, Innovation, Science and IT and for the public service assisting the leader.

The April Enterprise Evening will be held at the Heavy Haulage Office at Wellcamp. For more information regarding the event please visit http://www.tsbe.com.au/events/event_view/80
