A construction engineering company has won a tender for part of a metal development in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

Decmil Group recently secured the light and heavy vehicle facilities contract for Rio Tinto’s Mesa J Iron Ore Mine in Pannawonica, 196km southwest of Karratha.

$30M deal

The successful contractor is tasked with designing and constructing a site laydown area, heavy vehicle (HV) wash facility, mobile equipment maintenance workshop, bulk lube storage facility, and tyre change facilities for both HV and light vehicles.

The company will also be responsible for dismantling the existing HV wash facility and bulk lube storage facility at the same mine. QMEB can reveal the deal is worth $30 million.
