A major resources company will not discriminate against remote jobseekers without industry experience.

Mineral Resources (MinRes) recently launched a recruitment drive for its multi combination (MC) truck fleet.

A total of 100 heavy vehicle operators are required and successful applicants will undertake a three-month driving training program. Previous experience is not necessary and full instruction and qualification will be provided.

The program covers vehicle pre-start inspections, daily safety checks, driving on haul roads, side tipper trailer operations, radio communications and more.

“Th[is] is a fantastic initiative to uptrain people who have little to no experience in mining, with MinRes looking to fill more than 100 positions across our sites,” general manager port and logistics Jason Holmes said in a public statement.

“With a starting salary of six figures during the hands-on training period trainees can progress to a fully fledged MC driver pay within six months, offering a unique opportunity to transition to a rewarding fly-in fly-out career with long term prospects.”
