Earthmoving and oilfield companies are keen to hear from jobseekers who want a start in the industry.

Otraco International is offering a paid training-program that lasts about a month in either New South Wales or Western Australia. On successful completion of training, workers will be offered a trainee tyre fitter position at one of several mines based in either Queensland or NSW.

‘Paid to learn’

“The successful applicants will have the rare opportunity of being paid to learn … [and] you will continue your on-the-job training,” Otraco said on SEEK.

“We are a registered training organisation and at the end of your training you will hold a nationally recognised certificate in tyre fitting which will enable you to work on any large tyres including all earth moving tyres … it is expected that most people would be fully qualified within eight to 12 months.”

There is future potential to move into other positions within the company.

“This position can lead to a variety of duties within the company for the successful candidate,” the company said.

“Otraco international encourages career enhancement and growth within its employee base.”

‘Excellent’ FIFO rates

Meanwhile, NES Fircroft is hiring for entry to mid-level operators to work for an undisclosed oilfield operator.

These positions will be on a fly-in fly-out basis via either Brisbane or Adelaide. Successful applicants will be offered a contract position with “excellent” day rates and potential to become permanent staff.
