Key Responsibilities:

• The Trainers / HSE will provide instructions and guidance to employees in the proper use of the following Mobile Heavy Equipment:
  • Trucks – T284
  • Trucks – 740ADT
  • Trucks –  777G
  • Loaders – L2350
  • Excavator –  PH4100
• Assist in the development and delivery of the training curriculum, training schedule and safe operating procedures.
• Assess qualifications and on-the-job training of all new employees prior to operating heavy mobile equipment.
• Perform regular training needs analysis and ensure accurate and comprehensive training records are maintained.
• Conduct on-going training, assessment and certification of equipment operators.
• Liaise with training personnel, mine staff, safety and human resources staff and others.
• Review operations at the work site to confirm compliance with applicable related regulations and site-specific policies/procedures.
• Ensure employees are adequately assessed and trained for their assigned work as well as updating training records.
• Perform responsibilities of a management role, complete training reports, documentation, operator development with review and implementation along with in-class training.

Qualifications & Technical Knowledge:

• Completion of diploma or certificate post-secondary education in a relevant subject (engineering, mechanics, electrical, etc) or extensive HMP Trainers / HSE Managers / Managers experience a must.
• Simulator experience preferred.
• Offshore Experience a MUST.

Experience and Skills:

• Afrikaans is desirable however English is a minimum requirement
• Strong health & safety work ethic and practices is an absolute must
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working as a heavy mobile equipment trainer for the following Heavy Mobile Equipment:
  • Trucks – T284
  • Trucks – 740ADT
  • Trucks –  777G
  • Loaders – L2350
  • Excavator –  PH 4100
• Valid drivers license
• Communication skills
• Collaborative and cooperative team approach
• Proactive and focused

Working Conditions:

• Fly In / Fly Out from Sydney
• Restricted movement

• Tropical temperatures

Other Requirements:

• Experience of a cross-cultural work environment is preferred
• Afrikaans is desirable however English is a minimum requirement
