Jobs program helps almost 2700 Queenslanders Back to Work

Almost 2,700 Queenslanders are now back on the job thanks to the Palaszczuk Government’s $100 million Back to Work regional jobs program.

Employment Minister Grace Grace said Back to Work was already supporting 2,692 jobs in regional Queensland, just nine months into the program – with nearly 1,300 applications in the pipeline, representing real jobs.

“Back to Work is delivering thousands of jobs throughout regional Queensland and that’s great news for jobseekers, employers and local economies,” Ms Grace said.

“Almost 2,700 people have already been hired, and we’re seeing unprecedented levels of applications.

“A further 1,300 jobseekers have been hired by regional employers and their applications are awaiting processing.

“This includes 900 applications for the $20,000 Youth Boost, which has been extended to the end of October.

“If all these applications are paid, it means we’re already half way there to meeting our 8,000 jobs target, less than half way into the Back to Work program – an outstanding result.”
